My cousin, one of the twins, picked me up yesterday to visit with Grammie, and it was a treat and a half.

Grammie’s eyes lit up like Christmas when she saw me, and there were a few tears of happiness all around.

She is not falling anymore since her meds have been adjusted. She had had a stroke, and the medicos had blasted her with blood pressure meds so much that her BP was dangerously low. As a result, she had many falls because she was so dizzy when she stood up.

The geniuses only figured this out recently, and now she has been getting out of bed and walking with a walker. Still a little shaky from so much bed rest, and being tied to a geriatric chair.

She’s still full of spirit though, and although she hates the hospital (can’t blame her) she likes to shock the nurses by saying she broke her dink. (she broke her pelvis in a fall)

I think she will be able to go back very soon to the lovely place she was before she was admitted to hospital. The people who run it are wonderful, and they all love her. That makes them A-OK in my books.

I have had very little internet access since I wrote this, and I came home from being kidnapped into a camping adventure just now.

I booted up my home computer and it had a hard disk boot failure message. Oh, the woedness!

I got some pics of Skinny Bitch and Will-Yummy, but will not be able to upload them any time before Friday. Wait for the post. We all had fun!

camping. not for me. went to visit a friend a few years ago and when I got there she said, “yeah, we’re all going camping” her entire face was lit up.
I said, “that’s nice, you have a good time”

I did try it, I still hated it and hi-jacked the first ride out of there and back to civilization.

Glad you got to see your Grammie.
Glad you’re back in town.

I am trying to imagine what it would be like to still have grandparents around. I haven’t had any since I was 23 (Although to be honest, she was a wench of a person. My other grandparents were lovely though and I really wish that they were still around.)

Sorry to hear about your hard drive. I have hard drive failures all the time. Oh, wait. We’re not talking about the same thing, are we?

The secret is to keep it running. Never shut it off.

Heh, Heh.

Yeah Grammie! It’s a rare and wonderful Grammie that can get back on her feet after “bed rest”. May she continue to shock nurses for a long time!

Oh dear. I can soooo relate to so much of what you said about Grammie! I have a mother with bp problems and a MIL that is wheelchair/bed bound. Both still sharp as a tack! And my MIL has a bit of an… off-color sense of humor. She cracks me up, just like Grammie’s story of breaking her dink.
We are truly richer for having old ladies in our lives!

I am so glad your Grammie is doing good, I think about her and sort of feel a connection after doing that message in a bottle for her.

Sorry about the computer, it always sucks when the hard drive fails… Maybe it is life’s way of having you enjoy all the happenings without the distractions of the internet/ blogging world.

Oh! I’m so glad to hear that your Grammie is doing better and I hope her dink isn’t giving her any trouble :) xoxo
