March 10th, 2008

I’ve been trying to think of something to write about today, but have offically given up hope because my livingroom/computer station has been overrun with World of Warcraft nerds.

When I was looking up a nice reference for WoW, I asked Ass Burger Boy if he knew that there were cheats for WoW. ABB became very indignant, and refused to allow that there were any cheat codes whatsoever.

It’s nice that he has a friend, and truly nice that they have a hobby in common, but it’s not a far step up from the parallel play of toddlers, where they want company, but still want to do their own thing. Oh my, oh my, whatever will happen when the play becomes more socially complex? I don’t mistake cursing at bad moves for a socially complex activity.

Meanwhile, my ears are rebelling at the conversation full of jargon, but I understand the guys need to play.

My sister and her youngest are visiting tomorrow. I’m pretty excited about that as it’s been quite a while since I have seen her, and I have never seen the baby.

Maybe I’ll prepare a search term post for tomorrow.

The only ways I know of to access search terms while using the evil blogger is through sitemeter stats or feedburner stats. Also, MyBlogLog, which I deleted because BlogCatalog was better for me.
I use WordPress.com stats. That way, wordpress.com acts as a server and doesn’t eat any bandwidth.

Of course there are cheats! There are two types of gamers: the 133t haxors and the indignant cheat prudes. They all start out as prudes, but the higher level you get, the more necessary those cheats become. The prudes that don’t turn cheat quit the game.

This is why we have three computers – for WOW, Counter Strike and the bangity bang bang games my husband plays/runs the server for (I don’t even know what it’s called he he!)…..he bought me my lap top a few months ago….guilt purchase!!!
Our computer room looks like a call centre – two computers, headsets etc……then mates come over and ‘byo’ computer…so there has been three hooked up in there in the past….

“Farming WOW gold” is a popular phrase around here!

*sigh*

Myst: Back in the day, I think they called these LAN parties. Before laptops were readily available, participants would lug their towers, monitors, keyboard and mice and hook up on a local area network, thus LAN.

Myst Says:

WW…they even go to a place called “play by wire” an online gaming place…..many computers in one dark room.

Better than hanging around the streets getting into mischief though!

My sons have been WoW geeks for a long time, but it seems that nowadays the XBox is making a big dent in their computer play. Which is fine by me. It leaves my network for me to play with.

Speaking of search term posts… I had a strange one today (it was assopedia dot com), don’t actually visit the site-it’s not a family frendly site as the name would suggest.

Do you know how to find out how or where they referred hits to me? I briefly looked over the site in search of the referring link with no luck. I am worried my name is being drug through the mud or perhaps that someone is posting nasty photos or videos that are about my blog!!! :-o

Most blogging platforms have a database that can be searched. This includes the comments section. Some of the search terms I have come across I recognized as referencing my comments. For instance, the site you just mentioned will now be in my database. I don’t know how to track the searcher, however.

Oh, I hope you have a wonderful time with the baby – it will be nice to finally meet your niece or nephew. And search term posts are usually lots of fun. Go for it and give yourself a break.

I thought I was sad and without a life as a blogger until I saw the South park episode about WOW, now I feel sorry for them and have made it my mission to exterminate them with my old cavalry sword for their own good, they must not breed.

Crap, Knudsen wants me and people like me dead. hehehe. Well, on the plus side, it negates having to do anything with my life. (I kid I kid).

I use Statcounter and the Wordpress stats. Statcounter has a feature called “search engine wars,” that comes in pretty handy.

Also, I know zilch about WoW and I love babies too! Have fun!
