I commented on Joie of Canned Laffs interview post which originated at The Immoral Matriach:
“Hi darlin, be merciless with your questions.
I was hoping to get in on this, but I am woedly behind in my blogging and reading.”
She replied almost immediately:
Hee, hee, I’m rubbing my hands with evil glee!
OK, Here are your questions:
1. Tell me about your “inspiration corner” by your computer.
Why, certainly. I have my rocks, of course, and artwork, all of which has been created by artists that I know personally. One is painted on handmade paper that was shaped to a woman’s torso. It is called “The Land of Milk and Honey”. There are some notes to myself that I printed out, such as gratitude lists, and there are visual reminders of the things I wish to manifest. On a few of the rocks are engraved the words “Believe” and “Love”. Also, a check that I wrote to myself from the Universe for ten million dollars. What? The universe can afford it.
2. You have an affinity for rocks. Can you feel vibes from different types of rocks? Do you carry or wear any?
Maybe it’s just the rocks in my head calling me. Hah. I do feel vibes from different rocks, even different rocks of the same type. I believe that they share knowledge with us. The rocks seem to choose me, rather than the other way around. Sometimes they choose me because they want to be passed onto someone else who needs them. I have given countless crystals away. I used to always wear a rose quartz heart around my neck, and when my gold chain broke, I just transferred it to my medicine pouch.
3. Have you ever received any flack re: ABB’s nickname? How would you handle it?
I discussed the blog name with my younger son first, of course. He thought it was pretty funny. When I first heard his diagnosis of Asperger’s Syndrome, I immediately asked for the spelling, because Assburgers is what I heard. Some of my blog readers were rather shocked at the name until I explained it. Now, I generally provide a link that explains why I call him that in my blog.
4. I think it’s fascinating that you are part Passamaquoddy. In what way does your heritage express itself?
Physically, I believe I have the largest sinus cavities ever. This makes for those pronounced native cheekbones. My Grammie and Uncle have the the typical colouring of the Passamaquoddy tribe. I do not. Our native heritage was largely denied in a family of island xenophobes, but I was always drawn to native spirituality. I have a wonderful drum that is a partner in my healing practice, my medicine pouch (an object of great power)and I like to smudge with local sage and cedar. When I lived in the country, I was very astute at reading the weather. My prayer is Mitayuke Oyasin, or in English, All My Relations. It doesn’t only include family members, but the animals, the rocks (of course!), the plants. We are all one.
5. Do you feel stronger now than you did in your twenties? For that matter would your rather meet your twenty-ish self or today’s self for the first time?
I can’t say that I feel stronger physically, especially since I have been chained to the phone lines since September, and seldom get exercise. I have more aches and pains than I did when I was younger, but I like who I am a whole lot better than my wild child twenty-ish self. And? I have much more compassion for her than I once did. I have much more trust in my resourcefulness, and I am confident in my resilience. I have learned to let go of anger, anxiety, and pain. I have much more compassion for others than I did when I was twenty-ish, gorgeous, and felt that my only source of power was my swift wit, and my ability to beguile men with my hot body. Of course, I’m still hot, only now it comes in flashes.
Want to be part of it? Follow these instructions:
1. Leave me a comment saying, “Interview me.”
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone
else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them
five questions.
It may take me awhile to come up with questions, being I’m brain dead and all, but I will do my best. Thanks, Joie (pronounced Joey) for some great questions. And the material for a blog post.
