How to make lemonade of all these lemons? Feeling the sadness of the blogosphere for two families that lost their babies recently, even though I wasn’t previously aware of their blogs. Maddie’s funeral is today. My mom’s birthday. The day of her funeral four years ago. Thalon’s service will be announced soon, I expect. For those of you who are not on Twitter, or have been hibernating, lots of folks have purpled up their blog or avatar, in honour of Maddie. I don’t want to choose one over the other by purpling up, but I do ask the prayer inclined to keep these families in your hearts. If you wish to financially help these two families, who never dreamed they would have to bury their precious angels, you may do so here.

Thalon’s family.

Maddie’s family.

Now let’s see if I can be grateful amongst all my grumbles:

  • The snow that fell yesterday has melted.
  • The furnace that was not working yesterday is repaired.
  • The tradespeople that invaded my home and workspace were very pleasant and respectful.
  • I am enjoying the smell of hamstock simmering on the stove.
  • That I had my mother as long as I did.

My heart has been touched by all the little ones as well, it started back in Feb/March with Baby Cora, whose parents found out she had cancer two weeks before she died, she was 11 months old. I have been praying for God’s safety and protection over our little one’s since. I’m sure this much loss in the big world seems that much smaller by the www. Heartbreaking. It is an awakening to take care to be grateful for every little thing.

Oh there is so little I feel qualified to say about something as heartbreaking as this. I cannot possibly imagine how horrible… My heart and prayers go out to both of these families in their grief.
I didn’t know you lost your mother on her birthday. My grandmother died on her’s, also.
God bless you, Witchypoo.

I second Krissa’s comment. You are a special woman my friend.

I’m glad your snow melted and that you have warmth in your home.

I have had Maddie on my brain all day. Her mom found me on twitter a few weeks ago and her passing has been a shock to me.

Maddie was so beautiful here on earth, I can only imagine what she looks like in heaven.

i doubt there is anyone in the blogging world who was not touched or affected by those two little lives. Such a huge sadness. The kind that makes us silent because we just don’t know what to say… so i offer up my love and virtual hugs and healing energy to the powers that be.

also, i love your last GIST point.

I’ve been out of the loop a bit but it was so sad to hear these stories as I’ve been trying to do a little blog catch-up today. The loss of such innocent ones is so tragic there are no words. I too, love your last bullet point. So many things we have no control over that I think it is a blessing that we can try to control how we perceive those things. Your choice to be grateful for the time you had with your mom rather than concentrating on the time you may have lost is very inspiring. Thank you, Witchypoo.

I’ve been hibernating and staying away from sad stuff per my midwife’s request. I’ve heard about their stories but haven’t gone much deeper in to the specifics…

Glad your furnace is working, hopefully the snow stays away too!
